About La Famigila

The Palmichael has been lovingly owned and run by the Palmiero family since 1981, when it was first opened by Vincenzo and Angela Palmiero

Now, their children carry that legacy forward. Michael leads the kitchen with creativity, skill, and respect for traditional Italian flavours, while his sister Maria oversees the front of house, ensuring every guest experiences the same warmth and attention to detail that their parents inspired.

Their priorities have always been clear and simple: fine, authentic Italian food and great, friendly service and every guest is welcomed like part of the family. Every dish is prepared with care using the finest seasonal ingredients many sourced from local producers and Italian artisan suppliers.

At The Palmichael, hospitality isn’t just something we offer — it’s who we are. We believe that great food tastes even better when shared in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere

Michael Palmiero – Head Chef

For Michael , cooking has always been more than a career — it’s part of who he is. Inspired from a young age by his father.

Michael grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of authentic Italian cooking. That early influence shaped his deep respect for flavour, quality, and the joy of bringing people together through food.

His dishes celebrate the very best of each season, using ingredients carefully sourced from trusted local suppliers and traditional Italian producers who share the same passion for excellence.

Together with his talented kitchen team, Michael combines creativity with tradition, developing new dishes while honouring the beloved classics that have become part of our story. You’ll find many of these favourites under the Palmichael Classico section — timeless dishes that reflect the warmth, heritage, and heart of our family kitchen.

Maria Walker - Front of House

Maria Walker leads the front of house and guest experience, ensuring every visit to The Palmichael feels as welcoming and special as dining with family.

Maria’s warmth, attention to detail, and natural flair for hospitality set the tone for everything we do. She brings a personal touch to every service — greeting familiar faces, celebrating special occasions, and making sure every guest leaves with a smile.

Maria’s passion for people and her belief in genuine hospitality have helped The Palmichael earn its reputation as one of Northamptonshire’s most loved dining destinations. As she says, “It’s part of our blood — part of who we are. We’re so proud to share that with everyone who walks through our doors.”
